Mr. ​Sajid Hussain

Mr Rajneesh Chopra

Mr. Rajneesh Chopra is the Global Head – Business Development in VA TECH WABAG Ltd, a leading MNC offering life cycle solutions to industries and municipalities in water and wastewater treatment. WABAG has its presence across 4 Continents and has a successful track record of executing projects in 30 countries. He is on the board of various subsidiaries and joint ventures of WABAG actively contributing to ensure growth and profitability of these entities. Mr. Chopra is responsible for Corporate Strategy and Strategic alliances with Global players, Developers and concessionaire globally. He is also involved in Policy advocacy with key decision makers and governments to make water and wastewater Projects more sustainable and is responsible for identifying ew markets/segments and large project development for WABAG Group.

Mr Dilip Sharma

Mr Dilip is a business leader in the field of water management and utilities with more than a decade long experience across the industry. He has worked with the users at the grass-root level to help them achieve operational excellence and TCO (Total cost of ownership) savings by reducing water footprints and energy usage. Here at Bentley Systems, Mr Dilip leads business development for water solutions for India and helps users solve some of the complex water challenges. He is currently Senior Advancement Manager, Water Division, Bentley Systems India.

Mr Ajay Popat

Ajay Popat is President, Ion Exchange (India) Ltd. and responsible for Technology, Heavy Industry & Environment Business, Corporate Marketing, Corporate Diversification and Communication. He has more than 40 years of experience in Strategy, Business & Organisation Development with leading organizations. Associated with Ion Exchange since 1994, he has spearheaded several initiatives in developing and successfully commercializing proprietary, advanced & sustainable technologies for purification & separation in water, wastewater treatment and more recently in areas of renewable energy.


An authority in his field, Mr. Popat is active in promoting the cause of water industry through active participation with the Water and Environment Council in CII, FICCI, Bombay Chamber of Commerce, Indian Environmental Association, Water Quality Association – India Task Force, Process Plant and Machinery Association of India (PPMAI) and other trade bodies. He is a Director in the governing bodies of these organizations. He is also the Chairperson of ASSOCHAM India’s National Council on Environment and Climate Change (Waste & Water Management) and leads CII’s Core group on Promotion of New and cutting–edge Technology for Waste Water Management. Mr. Ajay Popat pursued his engineering degree in Plastics Technology from the Plastic & Rubber Institute, UK and Masters in Business Administration specializing in Marketing & Strategy with honors from NMIMS Institute. He has also been conferred with a Fellowship by Indian Plastics Institute in 2007. He likes to read, socialise, pursue indoor & outdoor sports activities and pursue life style improvement activities for the benefit of self, associates and the society.

Mr Chrys Fernandes

Chrys Fernandes is a Chemical Engineer, with 28 years of industry experience ranging from manufacturing, consulting and sales & marketing. He joined DuPont Water Solutions (formerly part of Dow) in 2006, as part of the New Business Development group evaluating new technologies, business models and M&A for business growth. In 2011, he took on the responsibility of Regional Commercial Leader for the Residential and Commercial product line, with the responsibility to grow and expand the markets for the Indian Sub-continent. In Sept 2013, he was given the responsibility to lead the Regional Marketing & Business strategy leader for the Asia Pacific Region. In his current role as Business Head for India Subregion, he is responsible to help build and implement a strong business growth strategy for India. Understanding future customer needs and working with Dupont’s multifunctional team is core ensuring that the company is at the front end to develop and launch products that set the trend for the market. Prior to joining DuPont, he worked for Lahmeyer International India GmbH, with their water consulting division. During this period, Mr Chrys worked extensively with local governments, multilateral funding institutions for urban water and wastewater infrastructure projects. He started his career with Degrémont in India with the Design and Engineering division and then moved to a sales and marketing role. Outside of professional interests, he likes to travel, read, and enjoys long runs and biking

Mr Ravindra Yeleswarapu

Mr Ravindra Yeleswarapu is a senior management professional with 25 years of broad experience in all facets of marketing, sales management, corporate sales, production. He is currently working as the Sales Director & Country Manager for Indian subcontinent, SEA & ANZ at Hydranautics - A Nitto Group Company. From 2018 – 2021, he also held a dual role of being the Technical Director for Asia Pacific and Sales Director for Indian subcontinent.

Prior to that, Mr Ravindra has worked with Nalco / Ecolab for 15 years, of which, for 10 years (2007 – 2016,) he was based in Singapore looking after the Asia Pacific Market. Mr Ravindra is a chemical engineer from NIT (National Institute of Technology) & also has a MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Dr Indra Mitra

Dr. Mitra is a Business Professional and a Technologist and established two successful start-ups (foreign technology companies) in India. and an International Expert in Wastewater & Sludge Treatment with 25 years of experience (India & USA) in Technology & Process, Policies and Regulations and Leadership Management. Dr. Mitra was recognized as a “Who’s Who” in Water & Wastewater by American Academy of Environmental Engineers and was a registered Professional Engineer (PE) of the State of Virginia, USA. He was awarded the “Man of Excellence Award, 2021” for Environment and Water in India by India Achievers’ Forum. He has been invited to join the Expert Panel for the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under Ministry of Jal Shakti. Dr. Mitra has managed and worked on hundreds of Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) & Sludge Treatment projects funded by International Funding Agencies (JICA, ADB, World Bank), Government & Industry. He has provided consulting/advisory services to Governments, Municipalities, World Bank, European Investment Bank (EIB), United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Consulting companies (KPMG, E&Y, PwC), EPC companies and Industries (Fortune 500 companies, Food, Beverage, Steel, Textile, Chemical, Refineries, Petrochemicals, Pesticides, Automobiles, Sugar etc). For the last 12 years, Dr. Mitra has worked in Leadership Position as Business Head/Vice-President/Director. He worked for Cambi (Europe), Jacobs (USA), Tetra Tech (USA), World Water Works (USA), NJS Consultants (Japan), Toshiba Water (Japan) etc. Dr. Mitra has completed B.Tech from IIT, Kharagpur, India, MS from Vanderbilt University, USA, Ph.D from Lehigh University, USA & MBA from Virginia Tech, USA. He has authored several books and papers and is a member to several leading associations and organizations.

Dr S Kanmani

Dr.S.KANMANI is a Professor & Director at Centre for Environmental Studies, Department of Civil Engineering at Anna University, Chennai since June 2015. Having more than 32 years of experience in teaching and research, Dr Kanmani’s objective is to educate the future leaders of the environmental profession and to conduct research for pollution prevention and pollution control of air, water and soil and to promote technology for sustainable Environmental Management. Her areas of research have been Reclamation and Reuse of Industrial wastewaters by Chemical and biological treatment processes, Environmental Applications of AOPs for Industrial Water Pollution Control, Degradation of toxic and nonbiodegradable organic pollutants in gaseous and aqueous phases, Utilization of renewable solar energy and Design of solar photocatalytic reactors and pilot scale studies for the treatment of industrial wastewaters, Utilization and solidification of Industrial sludge, Converting waste into energy(Solar Photocatalytic generation of Hydrogen from hydrogen sulphide) and Environmental Management Plan for Industries. Besides being Water Today’s Advisory committee, Dr Kanmani, is an expert member in various organisations State Level Expert Appraisal committee (SEAC), State of Tamil Nadu, Ministry of Environment Forestand Climate change, Government of India University of Madras (Member of senate). Expert Advisory Committee (EAC) on “Waste Management Technologies” (WMT) program of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Ministry of Science & Technology, GOI, Technology Development & Transfer Division. IIT(Selection committee) and many others. She has also won many awards like Tamil Nadu Scientist Award (TANSA) 2016 in the discipline of Engineering & Technology, Tamil Nadu Young Women Scientist Award in the discipline of Engineering & Technology in the field of Environmental Engineering(2005)  Eminent Engineering in the field of Environmental Engineering (2017) from The Institution of Engineers (India).  Hiyoshi Think of Ecology Award 2013 Dedication and outstanding research in the field of Environmental conversation and Protection in India (Elected) from Hiyoshi Corporation, Japan. She is continuously involved in research and teaching your researchers.

Mr E Nandakumar

E Nandakumar is a Mechanical Engineer from IIT Madras with a Post-Graduate degree in Management from XLRI. He has over 36 years of experience in leading corporates like ITC. He has worked in multiple roles and businesses in middle and senior management positions. With a multi-disciplinary and human centric approach, he played a pivotal role in the turnaround of two of ITC’s businesses. He also created a resilient outsourced manufacturing setup for one of ITC’s FMCG businesses that was recognized among the top three best business practices in ITC. In June 2017, he left the corporate world to help Start-ups and MSMEs achieve rapid, exponential growth by employing the Theory of Constraints. He is a trained facilitator for Lean, TPM and Six Sigma and a certified Instructor-cum-Mentor for the Lean Start-Up methodology, used by the National Science Foundation in the US to determine funding for start-ups. In January 2019, he helped setup the International Centre of Clean Water (ICCW) – an initiative of IIT Madras and is currently its CEO. ICCW aims to be one of the best ecosystems of its kind in the world to ideate, nurture and translate disruptive technologies for sustainable clean water, with collective participation of the global community and in the process building water professionals of tomorrow.

Mr Prakash Shanmugam

Backed by an experience of more than around 23 years in various Business Lines of Water & Waste Water Treatment Industry / Chemicals / Ion Exchange Resins / Reverse Osmosis Membranes, Prakash Shanmugam is currently the GM & Head of Business Unit – Liquid Purification Technologies (LPT) in India, wherein he is heading the overall Business Unit – Liquid Purification Technologies (LPT) in the Indian sub-continent.


Prior to LANXESS he worked with Bayer Chemicals where he held key positions in the field of Sales & Marketing for BU - Ion Exchange Resins and later was involved with the Strategy & Business development of the APAC region for LANXESS.
